Championing Derbyshire

Championing Derbyshire wanted to communicate the positive impact the London Olympics is having on Derby and Derbyshire, and also inspire people within the region to take advantage of the many personal and commercial opportunities still available.

The story needed to engage with the ares of tourism, business and the community. We decided to take some of the regions top young athletes outside their normal sporting environments, and filmed them at various iconic locations around the county. This helped communicate the positive messages resulting from the olympics across each area, and also highlight the strong sporting future the county and it’s young athletes are working hard to achieve.

The film challenges the misconception that the 2012 Olympics only effects London, and leaves the viewer optimistic that Derby and Derbyshire is taking full advantage of the games.

Derby’s World Cup bid

To support Derby’s pitch to become a host city for England’s world cup bid, Origin produced a series of films to communicate the passion within the county for football, and the practical arguments as to why the city would be the perfect stage for World Cup football. In total we created four films each designed to deliver a different supporting message about Derby’s bid. We even filmed a personal message from the voice of football himself, John Motson, personally backing Derby’s bid. The films were presented to the FA at an event managed and created by Origination, hosted at Derby’s newly refurbished Roundhouse.

What is Creativity?

Inspired by the TV series ‘Look Around You’, Origin helped sister company Origination produce an short documentary on the subject of creativity. Arriving at some interesting conclusions, the film explored the curious world of creativity, and was first presented at a Derby Bondholders meeting hosted by Origination.

East Midlands Airport summer TV campaign

Working in partnership with East Midlands Airport and Thomson Holidays we created a series of television commercials promoting destinations for the operators summer ’07 schedule which ran throughout Spring 2007. Using bespoke illustrations, animation and music composed and recorded in-house, the commercials promoted a range of worldwide destinations and car parking offers. The campaign was a success hitting load targets for the operator and was extended to include radio and outdoor activity.
